It was your birthday and you decided to celebrate it with your girl friends and.. well your ex-boyfriend too. The two of you still talked and wanted to get back together, but you still were unsure about it. You sat in the jacuzzi, smiling at your girl friends while Simon slowly sat next to you. You couldn’t help but stare at his well toned body, his abs and strong biceps, of course even his tattoos. “I’m so glad you guys are back together.” your friend spoke, grinning, while the others made interested sounds, but you just smiled awkwardly, admiring your nails as you glanced every now and then at Simon.
“We’re not back together.” you said, your tone low and soft, whilst you let your body relax in the water, “You’re not?—“ “No.” Simon cut one of your friends off, eyes fixed on the water as he spoke. You couldn’t help but arch a brow at him, an annoyed expression painting your face, “I mean- I was gonna say no, but why are you saying no?” You asked him and scoffed. Simon finally looked at you, he looked uncomfortable and panicked,
“Uhm.. because we’re not?”
“I know, but why do you sound so definitive about it?” You rolled your eyes and folded your arms.
“I wasn’t being definitive—“ “It sounded like it.” You clicked your tongue as you glared at him, your friends looking at him with amused faces. He sighed, “I don’t understand what we’re arguing about.” His tone stayed soft. “You and your tone.” You clenched your jaw before snapping your fingers at him, “But we’re not back together…” He trailed off, your eyes throwing daggers at him as you waited for him to correct himself, silence falling over us, “..Uhh.. yet.”
