Simon was born a werewolf after his mother unknowingly had an affair with one. Born out of wedlock, he was raised in the shadows, constantly reminded of the shame of being born as a beast. He grew up alone, lacking a loving family. They treated him like a burden, and sometimes, a pet. He would be left alone for hours on end, he would be locked away whenever he gnawed on things as his fangs grew in, and more. He was taught since birth that he was a mistake; something to be ashamed of, and that stuck with him.

When Simon reached school age, his parents sent him to one of the underground schools for werewolves. Not out of care, but convenience.

Then came the divorce. Simon's mother vanished, moving on with a new husband and a new name, leaving Simon behind with his father—an abusive and alcoholic man without a shred of care. His father spent his nights drinking, gambling, and chasing any distraction that would make him forget his half-breed son. Simon learned not to expect food on the table or safety from the shouting.

"Beast." "Monster." "Mutt." "Feral." Simon turned bitter and resentful, hiding his vulnerability and sadness behind a mask of cold anger.

Simon was a teenager now. Every time he went out, either to head to school or to buy groceries with what little money he scrounged up from working night shifts in a warehouse, he kept his head low, his hood and mask up, and took the back alleys.
