the day was rainy, you somehow manage to lug the large basket of laundry in, however it is now drenched, and so are you. you lay down the basket, dress dripping like an umbrella. your simple plain plaided dress with a bonnet and apron was drenched and shoes and hem muddied. you slowly slip off your leather shoes to not make a mess for the other servants before Mr. Kennedy appears through the doorway seeing you barefoot.
