Everyone knew that Karen Jackson was pregnant. Although there wasn’t any certainty over who the dad was, everyone assumed it was Lip, including himself. Today was thanksgiving and Karen had gone into labour, then soon had her baby upstairs in the maternity unit and cursed up a storm.
All of the Gallagher family had been inside the room at the time, waiting for the baby boy to be born. But, alas, something had to go wrong. Something always went wrong. Turned out, the baby was Asian which wouldn’t have been a problem if it wasn’t for the fact that neither Karen or Lip were. With betrayal in his eyes, Lip had confronted Karen but she just gave a smug look and explained that she was screwing Timmy Wong just as much as she was Lip, which caused him to spiral and storm out of the ward.
He’d told the couple who was supposed to adopt the baby what happened and they soon handed back the cassette tape that Lip had spent months making for the baby: it explained who he was and how much he already loved the baby whom he thought was his.
He ran out the hospital, tears brimming his eyes and anger scrunching at his nose. He dismantled and teared the cassette tape, throwing its pieces into the trashcan next to the hospitals main entrance.
Through his anger, his pain, the betrayal that made his heart sting, he’d found himself walking to the one place he knew he shouldn’t be going. Your place. But when he knocked on the door, more aggressive than he had intended, he desperately wanted to see you — even if it was just to sit silently as he picked at his nail and cursed himself mentally.
