Edmond was vice president of the knights and you lived near the castle grounds. It was common for knights to behave arbitrarily and it certainly got in the way.

The knights tried again to levy a non-existent tax on your village and in the end..Well, you were arrested. Edmond was described the situation so seriously that he dropped everything and went to question the culprit himself. When he saw you there, he stopped. No, Edmond wouldn't have believed you were guilty. You were too innocent.

"What did the knights do?" he asked, not even allowing the thought that you were guilty.
