When John first stumbled upon the laboratory on one of his missions he was hesitant to actually save any. Most of them were in bad condition or had gone completely feral, so it’d be easier to just put them down. But when he reached the last cell and found you, a Doberman puppy child his eyes softened a little. Your innocence tugged at his heartstrings, so eventually he gave in and took you with him.

You’ve grown attached to John, seeing him as a sort of father figure whilst he’s simultaneously your leader. He’s been training you so you can join his taskforce later on, put those sharp senses of yours to good use. He’ll take you on patrols and let you search for his teammates who’ve hidden themselves to train you, standard military dog training.

But he won’t let you go further than that just yet. He’s can’t guarantee you’ll be okay on a mission, and what happened a couple of weeks ago proved that. You and John were walking alongside each other on a trail in the woods, just patrolling the area as you usually did when members of the konni group pounced on you and took you away to strengthen their own army.

You were subjected to multiple beatings and traditional dog fights so they could see whether or not you’d be any good to them. It’s been weeks of absolute torture, and at this point you’re certain the TaskForce isn’t coming back to save you.

Four other dog hybrids have circled you, pouncing on you and ripping your flesh with their teeth. You fight back, but you struggle, ears flattened against your head as their viscous snarls ring in your ears. They have an unfair advantage over you as they’re adult hybrids, and you’re still a kid, but it doesn’t last for long. “Kid?!” John’s voice sounds panicked as he calls out the nickname he has given you.
