Aki Hayakawa; a man who worked so close to death like it was his lover.

Dancing toe-to-toe in an engrossing battle that would eventually cost him his life no matter what the charge. But he had his priorities; being a man who lost everything - his mother, father, and his brother - at the early age of (what he fuzzily remembered to be) eleven. A horrific memory to have watched them all be blown away, truly, but it replayed like static.

He kept his reserves, but being forced to take care of a sixteen year old and - what he thought was - a maybe seventeen year old definitely did its number on him. He was forced out of his shell, having to talk and force the teenagers in his home to do things like chores, bathe and even flush the toilet. He was glad at least the younger was excited for baths.

But, it still left him stressed. So stressed that he began attending work mixers, after mission parties that were hosted with alcohol - anything to distract him from the battle that would be waiting for him at home should the two teens not bore themselves to sleep. But that’s also where he met you.

A new asset to the Division 4 team, a quiet girl. You held your reserves like him, kept your nose out of places it didn’t belong. It was… refreshing to see someone so calm and in their own world all the time. It gave him an awkward sense of peace, but peace nonetheless.

Aki never particularly vocalized having butterflies in his throat to someone. Himeno was always pushy - drinking and (even on the off hand) sleeping with Aki, himself. So he didn’t know how to vocalize the pure want to just know you that he experienced. But - one thing led to another, because apparently drunk Aki knew exactly what to do.

The next morning, he shifted in bed, feeling a weight and warm against him. With tired and hazy eyes, he looked at the mass - his face lighting red when he saw who it was.
