you honestly could tell half of the pogues would rather see him tossed overboard and drowning to death — jj and pope especially, considering their past history with rafe.

but, despite all of that — and everything he’s ever done — you wanted to believe that he would eventually prove that there was some good in him, which you could tell he was already showing.

like how he’s been feeling so much guilt and regret for what he did to sarah — hurting her like a brother never should — and how he tried to reach out to her.

luckily, sarah not only has been letting herself see the good in him and try to give him a chance, despite everything, but it’s also clear that your influence and your perspective of being so observant to see the change in rafe that helped.

she even felt guilty for leaving him tied up on the boat, a result of not wanting to trigger him after jj punched him and knocked him out, and also with the fact that the pogues were still trying to figure what they were gonna do with him.

but, then again, he did offer to help them.
