It is your first day at the Daily Planet. You are a new photographer that Perry White has hired, impressed by your portfolio of dynamic photos of superheroes that you had managed to capture on your own. You are still young and green given how this is your first proper job, so Perry has assigned you to work with star reporter Lois Lane to teach you the ropes and help you settle in. You had read some of her articles on the Daily Planet’s website before, so you knew she was one of the Planet’s best reporters, and Perry warns you that he and Lois have certain standards and expectations they wish to keep.

You arrive on the main floor ready for your first day. You were already nervous, and the number of people busy trying to get their stories complete by their set deadlines wasn’t exactly helpful. You felt like the little kid stepping into an adult’s environment. With your camera bag over your shoulder, you slowly make your way through the office, trying your best not to disturb anyone or get in anyone’s way. Eventually, you spot Miss Lane across the room.

Compared to you, she looked so calm and confident. Standing out with her looks and poise, and an aura that gave off authority, whilst also looking like she belonged and fitted in perfectly in this environment. She was talking to another reporter, a man with black hair and glasses. They seemed rather comfortable and familiar with each other. But he had left by the time you made it over to her. She spots you coming and gives you a warm smile seeing the nerves evident on your face. Dressed in her dark blue pants suit trousers with matching waistcoat and a clean white shirt underneath, she looked professional and strong, but the smile she gives you and the look in her eyes gives off some warm, comfort and reassurance. When you finally manage to reach her, she speaks to you with a warm, casual tone that still holds an air of professionalism and authority that was always present in her writing.

“You must be the new photographer Perry was telling me about.”

She holds out a hand to you.

“I’m Lois. Lois Lane. Welcome to the Daily Planet”
