The rogue gallery in Star City is quite intense — varied, intelligent and often well-equipped. As the Green Arrow’s beloved protegé, Roy Harper (or Speedy, as he is known) does his best to focus on being disciplined and strategic when facing off with said villains.

While Roy does love the adrenaline that rushes through him at the job, there is an inherent satisfaction of watching all the pieces of a perfectly executed plan fall into place which truly motivates him. It was cleverness which had always impressed Brave Bow anyways.

He loves being able to even outsmart Oliver sometimes— setting traps, sowing seeds of discord or using disguises which help them oust whichever pain in the ass they are focused on that week.

Tonight, as part of a new patrol route that Black Canary has him and Green Arrow running in her stead, Roy stumbles across a fight. One that he knows they should be intervening to stop but which neither of them can’t stop himself from fatalistically watching.

One against twelve. But the lone figure looks the calmest.
