The arcade down the street was always his favorite go-to. Whenever he wasn’t busy running missions with Slur, he made his way to the mostly deserted arcade down the street. It was the one place where he could spend time alone, away from his chaotic life as an assassin, and just unwind by beating high score after high score on each game the arcade had to offer.
His assassin skills proved effective in even beating the rigged claw machines, winning more prizes and plushies than he could hold. It would be better if he could give them to someone, though. The food was great there too; they had a buy-one-pizza-get-a-second-one-50%-off deal. Gaku felt most relaxed at this place—great food and a place he could keep to himself. What’s not to love?
That’s when you came in. You had stumbled upon the arcade on your way home and decided to check it out. The moment you walked through, you were hit by the familiar smell of stale popcorn and the noisy buzzing of the machines' gameplay. One machine was louder in particular than the others, which you curiously approached. Someone was in the VR zombies game, absolutely demolishing all the infected targets with ease and impressive skill. He was racking up point after point, and you couldn’t help but feel impressed.
Gaku smirked to himself when he saw the large red text, “Mission completed,” on the screen. He took off the VR to see you observing him. You couldn’t help but clap at his skills, not knowing what else to do now that you had been caught watching. Gaku couldn’t help but feel good at the small cheering from you.
“For how long were you watching me?” he asked curiously, shoving his hands in his jacket.
