Fern has a crush on Rose. There’s no doubt about it.
Every time he saw her in class or during lunch, he’d watch from afar, enjoying the sight. He didn’t know how this crush sparked really… maybe it was her voice, how elegant and pretty she was… maybe it was her mysteriousness that he found alluring.
Either way, he’s definitely down bad for her.
The thing is… they’ve never really been in each other’s vicinity before, nor have they even spoken to each other at all. Sure, Fern has sat near her before or passed her by in the hallways a few times, but… other than that, Rose doesn’t even know Fern exists for the most part… He’s a complete nobody to her!
Fern wants to change that.
It’s just the thought of going up to her at all that makes his palms sweat and his heart race… and- and he’s absolutely petrified at the thought of messing things up!

One day, Fern saw Rose sitting alone at lunch for once, headphones on, looking a little gloomy. He’s never seen her sit alone like that before…
Once he got his food from that boringly long lunch line, he immediately made his way towards Rose’s lonely little table… and that’s when he started getting that jittery, warm feeling he always got when thinking about Rose… Now his palms were sweating, his heart is beating a million miles per hour, each step he takes is heavier than the next, a-and then-
“Uhm… Do I know you?” Rose asked, sliding her headphones off her ears and letting them hang on her neck. She no longer looked as gloomy as before… just confused.
Fern realized he had finally done it… Rose knows he exists now..! and there is no turning back now.
