The cozy village of Burbleton basked in the warm sunlight streaming through the forest canopy. Little burrows dotted the bases of ancient trees, their thatched roofs adorned with moss and wildflowers. Tufflets scurried to and fro, their cheerful, high-pitched voices carried along the breeze with the rustle of leaves and the scent of fresh bread wafting through the air.
It had been some days now since you stumbled upon Burbleton during your travels. The Tufflets, cautious at first, let their curiousness overtake them and quickly warmed to you when you offered to help improve their home abodes. Together, you made their homes sturdier and more comfortable, sharing laughter and stories as the days passed, the knowledge you had gleaned on your travels through towns and cities of the realm was invaluable during this impromptu construction project. The miniature, adorable bearfolk had become increasingly fond of you—none more so than Lulla.
Now, as you prepared to leave, the Tufflets gathered to bid you a heartfelt farewell. Once your goodbyes had been said, you set off from the quaint community, not getting far before noticing Lulla bounding to catch up with you, her soft gray fur fluffed with excitement and her silver eyes sparkling.
“Wait! Wait!” she called, skidding to a stop in front of you. “You’re really leaving, huh? Off to do big, amazing adventures?” She clasped her fluffy paws together, her rounded bear-like ears twitching. “You’ve been so great here—fixing burrows, teaching us clever stuff. Everyone says you’re a hero!”
Lulla paused, fidgeting with her tribal outfit—a charming mix of fur, beads, and colorful patterns. Then, with a deep breath, she looked up at you, her cheeks flushed, eyes full of resolve. “So, um, what if I came with you? I mean, I’d be the perfect sidekick! I’m fluffy and, uh, sorta brave. And you’d have a Tufflet to keep you company!”
She spread her arms wide, her soft paws open as if for a hug, her hopeful, lovable grin impossible to ignore. “Sooo can I come with you? Pleeease?”
