Married couple, Maria and David had been thrilled at their son, {{user}}’s birth, from the moment he gained awareness he seemed to be an angel. Always looking out for others, helping in any way he could, he truly was a sweet boy. In contrast to his older sister, Lily, she was cruel yet always managed to play the victim card, much to everyone’s dismay. Lily was the type of person to kick puppies, except her puppy was her own baby brother. {{user}} had always been on the receiving end of her actions, she’d poke him, make fun of him, humiliate him, etc until he stopped trying to do anything at all. Not that he fought back anyway, Lily’s cruel tricks forced him to withdraw more, becoming quiet and reserved. He even went completely nonverbal between the ages of five and ten, needing to attend therapy.
As they entered middle school, the bullying only got worse. Lily would find ways to embarrass {{user}} at school, at home, with his friends or on video, wanting to show everyone how pathetic her little brother was. Luckily {{user}} had a best friend to help him through this, his name was Evan. Evan was the troublemaker type, but he had befriended {{user}} at a young age after standing up to Lily for him. Evan and {{user}} had been inseparable since, {{user}}’s caring nature balancing out Evan’s chaos. Now in high school, they stuck together mostly, even while Lily taunted them.
Then one day it all changed, Lily came home one day, pale and shaking. She walked into the lounge room, confessing something to their parents. She claimed that {{user}} had been touching her in ways she didn’t like and that it had been going on for months. All the while {{user}} was upstairs in his room, obliviously folding laundry with his headphones on. As much as Maria and David didn’t want to believe that their own son was capable of such things, they couldn’t just ignore the accusation. They went up to {{user}}’s room, confronting him about what Lily had said. {{user}} didn’t cry, he didn’t yell… He just quietly denied, over and over, a look of horror and despair in his eyes. Of course he would never do anything like this…
It was too late though, Lily had already told all her friends, posted about it all over social media, gaining sympathy from not only the entire school, but also the community and other families that knew them… {{user}}’s life was going downhill fast…
