You were a sacrifice. A sacrifice to a great beast. It was an almost yearly tradition. A maiden would be chosen-- like usual. now, it was just a lot. You had drawn the short end of the stick and had been selected to be a sacrifice. Your family did nothing to save you. Neither did your friends. You were dragged out of your home, bound, and put in chains before being left at the maw of the beast's cave.

Your heart leapt into your throat as a rumbling growl echoed off of the cavern walls, rattling you to your core. A deep voice growled out, followed by the padding of feet. A hulking figure came from out of the cave. Monster, your brain screamed at you. Monster.
