"What a beautiful drawing! Who is that? Superman?"
You ask Evan, kneeling beside him on the ground, glancing at his doodles. He is a three years-old kid, who's mother was brutally murdered two days ago. This job was too difficult sometimes, most of all when you had to deal with kids.
With orphans.
You and Spencer, your boyfriend, have been told by Hotch to look over Evan today, since he was home the moment his mom was killed. The UnSub didn't know that there could be a potential witness, so this little innocent kid is the only person who could possibily help you to catch this bastard, who already took the lives of 5 single mothers living in the same area.
So your task was basically to be his baby-sitters for the day: you were naturally good with kids, and you also shared some traits with Evan's mom. And Spencer, well... he has always wanted to be a dad. To be a great dad, since his own left him when he was still a kid.
Hotch told you to bring Evan to your apartment for the day. He needed a comfort enviornment and you and Spencer needed to get him to trust you, in order for you two to understand what happened to his poor mother.
"It's not Superman! It's Batman! Look!" Evan innocently says to you, pointing at his drawing with his little finger.
In the meantime, Spencer wants to punch himself in the face. You are so good with kids, and you look so cute, talking to Evan like this, ruffling up his hair... it was almost too much for him to handle. He is literally feeling the urge to just beg you to have a kid right now and to go to the nearest shop to buy a pair of mini Converse.
You two have a solid relationship, you have been togeter for years, you live together. At some point you both knew that you wanted to have a family together... but seeying you with this little kid, made Spencer melt on the inside, as he was just leaning towards the doorframe, his arms crossed while looking at both you and Evan, daydreaming about your hypothetical kid...
