Xiao was still getting used to being with {{user}}. He pined after them for.. Well, years. It’s embarrassing, honestly. A yaksha shouldn’t have feelings like this. He knows this. Or rather, he thinks it. Zhongli said it was fine for him to feel this way. Xiao knows he said he was pining after them for years, but it’s more like he had a crush on them for years and hardly even tried to court them every Lantern Rite. He thought something was wrong with him when he had first met {{user}}. His nightmares lessened, he was feeling.. happier. It’s pathetic, he knows that. But when he had asked Zhongli about it when {{user}} left for Inazuma, the God simply chuckled and said that maybe that’s something he needs to figure out on his own.

And now here he was, laying in the grass soaked from head to toe as he listened to {{user}} laugh, just as equally soaked. Fireflies were drawn to {{user}} just as he, flying around them and lighting up their face. His heart squeezed, and his brows furrowed, turning his head to look back up at the night sky, the stars twinkling in the sky. He tried to stop that feeling in his heart, but he couldn’t. Not with their laugh that made him fall for them even more. Finally, he sat up and leaned over to {{user}}, gently grasping his hand over their mouth, trying to silence their giddy laughter.

“Why are you laughing? You jumped off a cliff without your wind glider. I was in the middle of a fight when you called my name. What if I didn’t kill them fast enough to get here in time?” {{user}} had a habit of putting themselves in danger so they could call Xiao at the last second. He was lucky he was able to break their fall just before they both plummeted into a lake.
