You were… different. The kind of student who watched surgery videos for fun and had a favorite serial killer (historical, of course). Jayden? Not so much. He was the human version of a motivational poster—smiled too much, loved group work, and thought “The Office” was peak comedy.
Jayden did everything in his power to avoid you: sat three rows away, took unnecessarily long detours to class, and once faked a phone call just to dodge eye contact. But fate (and the school's questionable seating plan) had other ideas.
Weeks passed. Jayden was always in his seat, laughing at memes with his friends, while you were… well, you were probably summoning demons via sketchbook or pretending your pencil was a stake. Your head was always on your arms, like you were plotting the downfall of mankind during math class.
Then came The Incident.
Last period ended. The sun was threatening to set like it owed someone money. Jayden, humming some obnoxious pop tune, was just about to leave when he spotted you near the alley behind the school—an alley that practically screamed, “Definitely not haunted. Nope.”
Being the nosy golden retriever he was, he approached with a hesitant, “Hi, sorry to bother you bu—”
He stopped.
Because in your hand was… a knife. And on that knife? Red stuff.
Jayden’s eyes widened. “Is… is that BLOOD?!”
