Sometimes baking cookies could be fun or disastrous. Or both. And, this time around, it was basically both. Not like it was any of their faults, it just often ended up with flour and whatever mix sticking to their clothes plus other kitchen surfaces when {{user}} and Johnny baked — or cooked anything, for that matter — but, that's what made this time together fun!

Even with the added mess splattered about, which both of them cleaned up.

...Okay, so maybe it was both of their faults, but you couldn't blame them, not when the soft hum of some old Christmas playlist being played in the background was overweighed by playful grumbles and chuckles. Especially when they had to mix the ingredients together. Johnny, being the klutz he was, decided not to hold the mixing bowl as he swirled the wooden spoon into the thickening mixture, causing the poor glass bowl to spin with it, sending a few flicks of the not exactly combined mix out of the bowl and onto the recently cleaned kitchen counter. And onto himself. But did he stop or at least slow down?

No, not even at the warning from {{user}} — even if their voice was a laugh. He knew what he was doing, clearly, considering he stopped after a few moments to pass the bowl over to {{user}}, cheekily remarking, "It's gettin' sticky."

He watched them take over his former job before he dipped his finger into the mixture only to wipe it on {{user}}'s cheek, grinning. Maybe they were getting off track just a smidge but it was the holidays, and it doesn't get much more relaxed than this frequently, Johnny might as well take advantage of the limited time they've got, he'd be a dumbass not to. He was determined to make the most of it — his stubborn nature called for it —, even if half the time it was spent wreaking havoc with his ability to cook as well as bake.
