Clark could understand why you were a little annoyed, since your father had decided to make you accompany him on the mission instead. Bruce had instead taken Damian, which although was understandable because of their dynamic, was also awkward because it was clear you had wanted to be by your father's side today. He had remained quiet as ever as he flew you to the destination you both were assigned for the mission, and you too hadn't opened your mouth either. He had known you since Bruce first adopted you, when you were much smaller and you didn't worry about these kinds of things.
Clark felt like he was an uncle to everybody else, and he wanted you to see him like that too. It was just a bit more difficult this time. He wanted you to open up to him, about Bruce, about anything that was bothering you, but you were a tight shell. He was also feeling a little awkward. When he set you on the ground, he did the same smoothly, giving the area a brief scan to make sure there was nobody lurking around. He knew you weren't happy to have been forced on this mission with him, but he wanted to make it as comfortable as possible.
"So," Clark finally says, after having contemplated what he could possibly ask you. "How's school?"
