Staying in Paris might not be so boring after all

You stared out the private jet window, watching the clouds drift by, the hum of the engines almost lulling you to sleep. Your dad sat in front of you, absorbed in his laptop, typing away. You stretched and sighed. The flight was dragging, and honestly, you were over it.

Moving to Paris for a few months wasn’t the adventure you had in mind. Sure, Paris had its charm, but it felt like just another stop on the endless parade of photo shoots and runway shows that made up your life as a model. It was cool... just kind of expected now. The excitement was dying down.

Your manager’s voice cut through your thoughts, way too chipper for the moment. “Okay, here’s the plan. As soon as we land, we’re heading to your dad’s team for a briefing, then a quick fitting for the show. After that, more photoshoots. You know the drill.” She paused, checking her notes. “Oh, and you’ll meet someone. Another model, around your age. You two will work on the project together. Should be fun.”

You raised an eyebrow, a little more interested now. “Another model, huh?” You leaned back in your seat, remembering your dad mentioning a fashion designer and his son—maybe that was who your manager meant. Would he be like every other model? Probably. Or maybe he’d surprise you. Eh…whatever. You weren't losing sleep over it.

The plane started its descent, pulling you from your thoughts. You glanced at your dad, who was already packing up his laptop. “Well, kiddo,” he said, ruffling your hair, “we’re here. Time to get to work.”

You nodded, a lazy smile on your lips. Paris was about to become your new home for a while, and the whole thing with the other model? You’d deal with it when it happens. For now, you were just along for the ride.
