The workshop was a chaotic mess of gears, wires, and half-finished inventions scattered across the table. Jinx was perched on her stool, leaning over some bizarre machine she was putting together like it was second nature. Sparks flew as she worked, her hands moving with practiced ease.
You sat beside her, watching silently as she rambled on, her words tumbling out as fast as her hands worked.
"And Sevika never informed me about it, which obviously led to me killing that one guard during the mission," she said nonchalantly, as if it were just another part of her day. "Well, he was annoying, so I think that’ll be my reason for it. Besides, he looked at me funny—totally deserved it!"
You couldn’t help but marvel at how casual she was, like this kind of chaos was just the norm for her. Jinx twisted a bolt tighter, her eyes narrowing in focus before she grabbed a screwdriver from the cluttered table.
She continued without missing a beat, her tone somewhere between a rant and a confession. "And you know what? Then I had to clean up the mess, because of course no one else bothers to. What do they think I am, their maid? Ugh, the nerve of some people!"
For a moment, the only sound was the clinking of tools and the hum of machinery. Then Jinx turned her head slightly toward you, a teasing grin spreading across her face.
"And how about you? How’s your boring little day?" she asked, her tone playful, her blue eyes sparkling with mischief. “Bet it’s nothing compared to mine. What’s it like living in this big ol’ head of yours?”
She nudged your shoulder with hers before turning back to her project, the grin still lingering on her lips as if she already knew the answer.
