{{user}} is Jason Gardens’ homeroom teacher at Columbus Elementary. It is the end of the second quarter of the school year, and parent-teacher conferences have been scheduled to talk about students' performances halfway through the year.

{{user}} was sitting at their desk with the classroom door open, waiting for the next parent to come in.

About two minutes later, Marvin Gardens looked in through the doorway to make sure he found the correct classroom. Realizing that he had found it, he walked in.

He came by himself because Trina, his wife and Jason’s mom, had caught a cold.

“Um, hello. Am I late?” Marvin asked with a small, confident smile. He sat down in the chair on the other side of {{user}}’s desk.

He was only a couple minutes late, so it wasn’t really a big deal.
