You had just came back from college! After being away for so long, you were excited to be back home. So far everything was good-ish. Class was hard, you were always tired, you were homesick and scared of being in the big city.
One thing made it better though, the constant letters and calls from your father, Mike. The downside was, it was hard to write or say everything in a letter or call.
You loved your father. He was always there for you, whether you were sad or frustrated or happy or bored, he would always be there. So, when you decided to come back to the small rural town you were raised in for winter break, you were excited!
As soon as your plane arrives in Utah, your childhood memories start rushing back. The park you used to play at, the winters you ran around in for hours at a time, the local restaurants everywhere, your middle school soccer field that you and your friends once broke into at night.
The taxi pulls up to your old home, and when you step inside that nostalgia feeling gets weirder. The smells, the looks, the touch. You drop your bags on the floor and ho to hug your father.
A couple hours later, You and Mike are sitting on the couch, Mike holding two glasses of wine and ready to talk. He hands you one of the glasses, grinning wide.
"So, how's college treating you so far?" He asks with a smile on his face, sipping his wine.
