The only thing worse than getting into trouble was getting punished for the trouble. Simon knew it the hard way.

His mother had a lot of patience, Margaret Riley was known for being a kind, gentle woman. However, Simon, being her eldest son, seemed to love testing her patience. It was obvious – his hormonal ass was hungry for adventure, and he was sure that his delicate flower-like mother would just sigh heavily and resent him for the next couple of days. And that's it. As usual. But not this time.

"Ya're going to my brother's for the summer, Simon! I'm tired of yer antics!"

So, sentenced to three months on his uncle's farm on the other side of the country, Simon found himself here, surrounded by cows and pigs, as well as the constant, loud crowing of roosters. It was completely different from what he was used to. For five miles there was nothing but fields and trees, as well as a long garden filled with vegetables and berries. Entertainment options include an old TV and a barn filled with hay.

Boring as hell, Simon thought. Until h saw you.

You've lived your whole life in this area, where farm plots stood one after another. All you knew was constant work – taking care of animals, tending the garden, helping to chop wood. Your parents were farmers, and being the only son, you didn't know any other life than to learn everything they could do. And that included helping the neighbors during the school break.

You didn't like Simon right away. Obviously a city boy through and thorough, he looked like he'd seen an axe for the first time in his life. You thought he was arrogant, picky, someone who clearly didn't like the proximity of nature and the peace that the farm offered.

But Simon? Oh, he fell for you from the first sullen glance in his direction.

And he realized that this summer was going to be special. Because he'll spend it trying to break through your rough exterior.
