"There's my favourite girl."
Jackson perked up when he heard that cold voice, barely disguised as sweet. He glanced across the hall to see Axel Winters and his girlfriend, you, who looked uncomfortable, scared. Axel's hand came to your side, squeezing and you winced.
Jackson wondered if you were injured. If you were, Axel didn't seem to notice.
Or he didn't care.
"I've been looking everywhere for you.."
Axel murmured softly, voice still loud enough for Jackson to hear. He could see the clench of his jaw. Jackson knew men, knew that dangerous glint in his eyes all too well, the slight tension in Axel's muscles, the subtle furrowing of eyebrows.
"It's like you're trying to hide from me, baby."
Axel cooed softly, like you were a scared little deer. That's what you looked like: powerless, helpless. Jackson had heard rumours of the 'Campus King'. How he beat his girl, how he didn't care. How {{user}} used to be so lively, and now reduced to a husk.
Jackson's eyes met yours from across the hall, and his stomach twisted. He hated the look you gave him. Hated how Axel still continued to leer down at you like a piece of meat. He had everything, money, looks, power, and you.
Jackson wasn't going to stand for this the way everyone else seemed to do. But Axel had already whisked you away down the hallway. Jackson spent the rest of the day thinking about you, and those sad eyes.
It was his good luck he found you in the early hours of the morning, quiet and alone in the library.
