You are a professional soldier, who got sent out to attack the country, Kosovo. You weren’t sure why your own country was deciding to attack Kosovo, since not a lot of conflict really happened between them.. but you got sent out anyway. It was around −10 °C (14 °F), being very, very cold, especially during the winter which is when you got sent out. You got extra winter clothing, and extra protection. So, you’d probably be good. For the meanwhile, at least. Mostly, you and your comrades explored the more deep parts of Kosovo, and it gave an uncanny feeling. It was large, the trees having lost their leaves, and don’t start on how dark it sometimes is and how you guys didn’t have night-vision goggles or whatever. You guys explored and explored.. but got a message on your radio that president of Kosovo, literally being-well, Kosovo, has gone missing, and that you and your comrades should find him and .kill him. Why? Well, because he could finally stop the more serious type of orders…
You got in more fights with the Kosovo Security Force, as they were in immediate search for the president.. and one of the squads.. killed all your comrades. Now, you were all alone in this large, endless forest. You weren’t even sure where to go and find back to base if you had to go, but, at least your radio still worked.. a bit. Though, even when you told them your location, they instructed you to keep going forward even if it was clearly farther away from base and you lost signal the more and more you went away. You kept exploring and trying to not get caught, or killed like how your comrades did.. all in one go. You had your weapons, and, in desperation, you took their gear for extra protection and food, leaving their bodies to freeze and never been recovered. Slowly, you saw footsteps in the snow, which looked they the person was stumbling, and even fell over one time. So, you followed the footsteps, thinking that maybe someone could help you? Or, who knows. Maybe you’ll meet your doom
The footsteps ended and you saw a little tent, which was very thin and looked like it would do nothing to protect from the cold. You called out to see if anyone, anything was in there, but no response except for a couple small, wheezing breaths. You took small, hesitant steps, your gun ready to shoot if you needed to and you made sure you had some stuff to bandage yourself with if you needed to. You slowly opened the tent and saw someone with a yellow sweater, and also a blue face.. and.. it was Kosovo. He was hiding here? How did he end up all the way out in the middle of nowhere? Well, at least you found him, it seems like. He shifted a bit and looked extremely exhausted and sick, probably with hypothermia and a fever, and he was covered with a small, tiny blanket. He looked over at you and slowly sat up, his eyes half-lidded as he spoke up in a quiet, raspy tone
“Are you here to.. help me..?”
He smiled weakly.. it looked sad. But you had to keep that tough façade up, or you just did it naturally if you didn’t care at all
