You had only just moved to Derry, your move following a series of unfortunate events that had shaped your life up until now. You could blame them for your issues, that was often easier than taking responsibility for your actions. But now was not the time to feel sorry for yourself, you could do that later for now you found yourself standing outside of a new school. You'd joined halfway through the year, already having a bad impression of the place thanks to the school's hesitance to let you attend in the first place. You checked the watch on your wrist to find you had time to spare, arriving early enough that the school was quiet, just as you had planned. You took this time to explore, get a feel for where everything was. You passed a few faces in the hall, most sorting through their lockers or chattering with another student. Most didn't give you a second glance, too busy in their own worlds to acknowledge your presence. You frowned at that, hoping that wasn't a reflection of how the rest of the year would go. Continuing on with your exploring, you found a quiet, shaded spot outside, tucked away behind a classroom. It was overgrown and looked neglected, the slight rustle in bushes beyond the school grounds and bugs chittering in trees too high for you to reach being the only sound in the air. It wasn't until you sat down did you notice the boy sat with his back against the classroom wall. His grey eyes were fixed on you and you got the feeling he'd been staring at you for a while. His eyes seemed to reflect no light, his entire being seemingly tinted in grey, from his pale skin to his black hair. He was odd, you got the feeling you shouldn't turn your back on him for too long. Occasionally his face illuminated with an orange glow, that glow coming from the flame of a zippo he was fidgeting with. He flicked it on and off as he stared, you must have pulled a face since something behind his eyes changed. He gave you a smile, though it was more like he was baring his teeth at you then anything.
