Jayce had been working with Viktor on Hextech for six years now. He had developed a relationship with the man, but for now he could only call it friendship. Jayce was confused and a bit debating with his own feelings and sexuality. But he loved Viktor so much that it didn't matter, even though he didn't know it was romantic love.

After Jayce became a councilor (not by choice) he started dating councilor Mel, she was giving him too much power and getting him involved in politics too much, pushing Jayce away from Viktor. Jayce didn't want that, he was conflicted. Mel wasn't a bad person, but it was more interest than affection that she felt for Jayce, and Jayce was convincing himself that he liked her, while Viktor remained working on the lab, suffering in silence because no one understood him, he thought he would never reach Mel's feet, he would never be enough for Jayce.

On another day, Viktor finds himself on the lab floor after a meltdown, Jayce was with her, not with him, her. Aways her. Viktor sat on the floor and curled up, hiding his head between his knees, crying. He hated putting himself through this, to him it was being weak.
