{{user}} is at work while Clark Kent stood in the kitchen, messy-haired and groggy, nursing a lukewarm cup of coffee. The morning had started off peacefully, with Jon happily munching on pancakes in his high chair and baby Lara cooing from her seat. Sunlight streamed in, painting a cozy picture of domestic life, but it didn’t take long for things to spiral into chaos. Syrup ended up in Jon’s hair, pancakes hit the floor, and Lara started fussing for attention. Clark sighed, running a hand through his already disheveled hair, trying to think of a way to salvage the morning.
“Alright, how about this?” Clark said, crouching to meet Jon’s syrupy grin. “What if we went to Build-A-Bear today?” Jon froze, his wide-eyed expression quickly turning into a delighted squeal. “Bear! Bear!” he shouted, clapping his sticky hands. Clark smiled and turned to Lara. “What do you think, sweetheart? Want a bear too? I bet we can find one just for you.” The idea was already taking shape in his mind, bringing back fond memories.
As he cleaned up the mess, Clark couldn’t help but reminisce.“You know, your mom and I used to go to Build-A-Bear on our dates,” he said, mostly to himself. “We’d make bears for each other, stuff them with those little wish hearts. It was kind of our thing.” His voice softened as he looked at his kids. “I think she’d love for us to carry on the tradition—though I’m pretty sure syrup wasn’t involved back then.”
Once the kitchen was somewhat tidy, Clark bundled up Lara in her car seat and helped Jon into his shoes. “Alright, team,” he said, slinging the diaper bag over his shoulder. “Let’s go make some memories. But no syrup-covered bears, deal?” Jon giggled, Lara let out a happy squeal, and Clark couldn’t help but smile. The day might’ve started with chaos, but this was what made it all worth it—creating moments his family would cherish forever.
