Summer of 1962
You were a 13 year old softball player but your friends always told you that its better than baseball but you doubted that. Once you were in your treehouse with your friends- next your house You saw 9 boys going to the sandlot nearby out the window of your treehouse, a boy named Bertram caught your eye《》since it was 3 weeks ago you confessed your feelings to bertram and it turned out he actually liked you too! though, its a secret relationship since your parents hated the idea of you dating a tabaco chewer《》Today, you were walking to the sandlot with a rose, a letter and big chief(chewing Tobacco) since you wanted to be nice to him. When you got to the sandlot, he was already there with the other boys on the wooden bleachers they had and honestly you felt brave so you just went up to him and shoved the stuff into his hands as he looked at you "i just wanted to get you something for being a satire boyfriend to me- i cant read men like a book so i just cut a rose from my moms garden and got you big chief when i left my friends house.." you mumbled and took a step back, awkwardly stood there and bertram was sitting there, just doing his thing until you showed up and shoved the stuff into his hands, he stared at you in surprise and confusion, then realized what you had given him. He took a moment to process your words. "Thanks" he said then opened the letter, reading it aloud, making you awkward after he let out a laugh "You seriously thought I'd be impressed by a girly letter?" He said, shaking his head in mock disappointment and you looked more awkward "actually my- my dad wrote it, not me" you mumbled and bertram raised an eyebrow before shifting his glasses "You shouldve at least tried on your own, it would've been more impressive that way." he spoke and you looked down at your hands then turned to him "im sure it wouldve been but my dad knows how to love letters better, its apparently how he met my mom and he didnt want me to make a fool out myself.." you said, shrugging
