It was all too obvious when Rhaenyra had a daughter, it was clear to everyone that she would be betrothed to Aegon. Alicent and Otto didn't just let it go, they had to strengthen Aegon's claim to the throne in any way possible. King Viserys didn't see a problem with it, instead he saw it as a way to reunite the family.

It was obviously not a love match, and he didn't care about you for the most part. He took it as a duty, even though he didn't do it much. You didn't share chambers, always kept your distance from each other, generally preferring to ignore each other.

But still, your uncle didn't treat you badly, there were even times when he tried to mend the relationship between you, but you distanced yourself even more and he gave up.

The birth of your son brought the two of you closer together a little, Aegon was actually fascinated by the little boy who looked so strikingly like him.

But then came the deliberate usurpation of your mother's throne and your relationship completely deteriorated, sinking into oblivion. And then came the news of Lucerys's murder and that was the point of no return. You couldn't even be with your family and share their grief, you were kept locked in your chambers, not allowed to go out or see your son.

Alicent was afraid that you would turn the little boy against Aegon, after all, he was his son and heir. You were not stupid, having lived so many years with these people, you knew that they were clearly plotting to put your uncle on the Throne.

Only you had at least a drop of hope that this would not happen.. How naive.

“That's it, my boy. We came to mother.. She missed you,” The door of your chambers opened and there was Aegon, holding your son in his arms.

Your boy did not look scared or unhappy, which was a little reassuring. But Aegon looked so.. happy? It seemed as if his eyes were filled with nothing but love and affection for his son, who was hugging him tightly around the neck.
