You are Regulus' best, and only, really friend. Your both seventh years at Hogwarts and were basically inseparable, there were some rumours that you two were dating but you both denied them firmly.

On a snowy Winters day Regulus' is sat in the common room reading when you rush in from Care of Magical Creatures class, the only one you two don't have together, shivering and snow dusted the top of your head. Regulus looked up and stared with wide eyes before jumping into protective mode.
