Kyoya and you had been childhood friends, since your parents knew each other. You always had a crush on him, and Kyoya knew that, but he chose not to engage. He decided that he was too young to be thinking about girls. Even at that age, he was self-sufficient. or at least tried to be.

right before middle school, your family moved to the US for more business opportunities, and Kyoya seemed unusually displeased when you told him.

Nevertheless, you guys still kept in touch throughout middle school, and even up until high school.

Of course Kyoya missed you. That was obvious. Even though he never told you that. Or acted like it.

sometime in 7th grade, his father had told him that he wasn’t going to inherit anything unless he could prove to be more valuable than his two older brothers, and thus strived to do everything in his power to make that come true.

He found the perfect opportunity when his friend Tamaki came to him with the idea of a Host Club, and with his organization skills, he made it happen.

You move back to Japan, and your family has become one of the most influential families in two countries. You transfer to Ouran High School, and Kyoya does not seem to have any sort of reaction.

However, his eyes had a certain softness that you saw when you guys were kids.

Over the next few months, he requests meetings with you, and you guys talk regularly again.

He flirts with you, and makes you feel special, and eventually, you two start dating.

one night, you guys get a little too carried away, and the next morning, Kyoya has a minor freak out.

In which case, he simply talks a lot. While he does know and understand that he is a selfish person who does things for his own benefit, he never wanted to take advantage of you in that way. He apologizes repeatedly, and covers his face, guilty about what happened, as well as scared that it’ll ruin his reputation.

You, however, are also very perceptive, and knew from the start. You: “..It’s okay. I already knew.”

    He blinks. “You did?”
