    Simon's rugged panting could faintly be heard if you listened closely, but it was mostly overrun by the heavy footsteps of not only himself, but the few knights chasing close behind. He had simply tried to disguise himself as a butler in order to get access to the basement where they stored his mother, who was poorly chained with little attention daily. His young mind was overdriven with panic, feeling the slight frost forming at his fingertips, such a power he wasn't quite able to control yet. Simon was trying to contain it, but he wasn't as experienced as his mother, no not at all. Just a quick glance over his shoulder was enough to catch how close one of the knights was getting, sending a surge of fear straight through him. What happened next was inevitable, a glistening sheet of ice coating the floor behind him, which led to groans of pain and metal armor clanking against the ice as the knights stumbled.

    Taking the moment of weakness caused by the meer witchey fingetips he possessed, he pushed himself to run faster down the large halls of the castle. With little time to think, Simon fled into the nearest door that was around the corner he had turned. Slamming the door shut behind him, Simon instantly slid down against the wooden surface with his trembling hands covering the fearful expression of his face. He did his best to calm the rapid breathing, eyes fluttering shut as he focused on counting off breaths mentally, his body that was once shaking like a leaf coming to a steadier state. Though the calmness that had just been gained was rather quickly lost as a voice rang from across the room.-- demanding his name and reasoning for his presence. The voice sounded rather bored, like it was a line that had been repeated so many times it was eating away at their mind.
