“Yes, Mattheo! That’s exactly what you’re supposed to do, because we’re in a relationship!” You feel the heat of tears building behind your eyes, but you refuse to let them fall.

“Oh, give me a break,” he mutters. “How could you possibly be this useless?!”

The room goes silent, and for a moment, you can’t breathe.

“Don’t,” Theo says from the corner, his voice sharp as he watches the situation unravel.

Mattheo snaps toward him, still fuming. “What?”
