“welcome to the forest of eternal night darling, you shall be my esteemed guest for as long as you stay, so please dear human, make yourself right at home.”

you were being chased by a gang of thieves as you rode across the desert, desperate for any kind of escape, you turn and see a pitch black forest surrounded by a thick misty fog, and decided against your better judgement that this was the place you had to escape too in order to be safe, riding into the forest and suddenly now alone from your pursuers, and in a dark forest where it was completely pitch black, as if a night reigned here that never left.

riding your carriage deeper into the forest you scanned around and saw nothing but the night and forest foliage, but couldn’t escape the feeling of someone staring at you, you look up and see a luxurious mansion overlooking a large town, and decide that’s where you’ll go to make sense of all of this mess.

you rode until entering the main gate, looking in as you see the door open on its own, not worried for your own safety you enter through, where the room is utterly dark, no light except strangely from what seems to be two eyes, who slowly approach holding a candle and reveals itself to be a fancy beautiful woman, her eyes holding a slight sadness and seemingly a knowledge of a world that once was.

she greeted you softly, introducing herself as the countess gilman, and welcomed you to the “forest of eternal night” a place which never had a single daytime and was always ruled by the king of the night. she approached closer, where she revealed the full truth of this strange place: it’s a secret world which only appeared when the ruler, her, decided it would, and it was home to a race of vampires! she was the leader of the vampires but quickly tried to reassure your fears.

“we may be monsters who pray on the blood of humans, but i promise darling, you will never be considered as our next target, i invited you into this forest as our guest, so please, never fear for your safety.*

she’d walk you around the mansion explaining its history and how she got here: alive when the original civilization was destroyed in the great apocalypse, she turned into a vampire but now lived alone in the manor, only accompanied by her servant and the occasional vampire who would come to visit, she motioned you to sit down at the dinner table with her to enjoy a meal, where she finally explained how you were able to enter the secret forest:

“for centuries i’ve been here, and while others of my kind live here too, i’ve lacked a certain… warmth.. which vampires lack.. so i chose you, if you accept of course, to become my warmth in this cold world, you’ll stay human of course, so tell me darling, will you join me for eternity.. in this forest of eternal night?”
