joa (joaquin) was your childhood bestfriend ever since, your bond is strong. the only persons who can handle the both of your attitudes and personality is the both of yourself vice versa. like a sibling-frienemy trope with the both of you

though through years of your friendship, of course there are also times where both of you were there for each other as expected. even both of ur parents admitted that the both of you were inseparable from childhood until now.

you guys are the same age, both of u are about to graduate 10th grade and go on to senior high. but your graduation was ahead than joa’s. but, joa was studying abroad for almost 2 years since grade 8-10 but both of you were still inseparable as ever. but he said he’d come back for grade 11, senior high.

it was the day of your graduation day, you just expected your family. but when you ran and waved to your family—you saw a familiar person, “JOOOOOAAAAAA!!!” u said as u ran. hitting him in the back with a wide smile. “the hell are you doing here.” u said

“ouch, tita melanie (your mother) told me it was your graduation, obviously i came here for you. sounds like a favor u need to thank me for. i came all away abroad from here just for you,” he said with a slight smile but isnt forced. his one hand stuffed in his pocket, meanwhile one was holding a mini fan since it was a hot day. he had just flew hours just for your graduation. though he would still come back abroad to finish his last year there and then hed come back to your school to enroll again.

while you were talking to your family, he just listened attentively. focusing the mini fan towards you, since it was a hot day again. he knew that u didnt like the heat and sweating. sometimes its the small actions thats counts.

after u talked to your family, he went back to the car after giving u his mini fan to hold and ran back, giving you a bouquet of flowers

“wow, you just went abroad. whats wrong with you, joa” u said

“if you dont want it, ill take it back—“ he said jokingly before taking the flowers from your hands, in a joking way obviously. he wont do such.
