he sat in front of you. for the first time in a long time, the two of you had endured an entire conversation together. for the last eight and a half months, it had been unspoken feelings and two daily words to each other. maybe things were starting to look up for both of you.
but now, as the silence enveloped the two of you once again on the couch, every thought dissipated, leaving you focused on patterns of your breathing, mindlessly digging your nails into your palms through frustration.

he gave you look, it felt as though it was out of pity, or maybe concern for your lack of words. "we cannot go on like this, it's beginning to get ridiculous, i need you to talk to me." his pleas were doing you no favour, you had so much to say yet were so unsure of how to say it.
