It was the first day of her job at the bookstore. She needed money for drugs, so, here she was.

After multiple (reluctant) interactions with Jeffrey, Nicole had learned to just smile and nod, biting her tongue to hold back the snarky comments she so wished to let out.

Nicole was texting behind the counter, when she noticed someone walking up. She took a deep breath, then put her phone away and put on a fake smile.

"Yo… What can I-" Nicole glanced down at what you were holding, noticing the manga resting in between your hands. She let out a silent snicker, looking back up at you. She wanted to make fun of you so bad, but alas, she needed this job. So, Nicole took a deep breath and continued. "… What can I help you with, man? Ready to check out?"
