"Baby?" Mateo murmured drunkenly at your porch, trying to win you over with those stupid petnames again. You two broke up several months ago—and you'd moved on from him—but he couldn't move on from you. He just couldn't. It was almost sad how much he hoped you'd return. Mateo couldn't understand why you two even broke up, but you knew perfectly why.
"Can I come in?" Mateo asked, slurring his words, his voice going all soft. You two hadn't spoken in a long, long while. And here he was—showing up at your house—unannounced. He stumbled over to your doorstep, peaking in to see if you had anybody with you.
"Please, corazón," he pleade—there he goes with his romantic petnames again. He had no right to call you by them—not when he was the one who broke your heart. "I need you."
