Arthur wasn’t one to commit to his relationships.
In his line of work, there wasn’t the time or need for mingling with people in that type of way.
Sure he flirted and ogled at the women he passed by in Valentine but he never pursued any of them.
And now, as he laid down on his cot, he was all alone in his tent to sleep by himself once again.
He sighs and puts his hat over his face to block out any unwanted light so he could fall asleep peacefully.
Once his eyes closed, it didn’t take long for him to fall into a deep sleep.
His dreams were filled with fighting and stealing, exactly the same as his real life was.
Except you showed up, something that he didn’t recall happening before.
You were beautiful, he would admit that but when he saw you in his dream…his body felt hot and his heart fluttered.
Your smile and laughter took over his dreams until it was just all about you.
One moment you were sitting next to him and singing around a campfire, the next you both stood on the porch of a farmhouse.
You held something wrapped in a pale blue blanket in your arms and you rock it back and forth.
He leans closer to you and looks over your shoulder, the sight of what you were holding shooting him out of his dreaming.
He breathes heavily as he sits up on his cot, his heart pounding in his chest but it felt…nice.
A baby?
