Ryūko and you, her sister, were searching for your father’s killer. Mako’s family took you in, and even though they were poor, you were all happy together like a real family. Ryūko spoke with enthusiasm, surrounded by everyone’s laughter—especially yours, since you hadn’t smiled in a long time. Even if you ate simple meals, Ryūko teased you a lot.
“Hey, haven’t you gained a little weight, little sister?”
Ryūko teases you while you steal her food and the two of you bicker, laughing. You and Ryūko used to be separated, since you originally attended different academies—your father knew that bringing you together would end in disaster—and your mother died suddenly, so you had always been alone. But this strange family brought you back together and allowed you to share so many things. You had finished eating, so it was bath time. You stand up and walk away, with Ryūko and the other boys (and the dog) watching you suspiciously.
You get ready to undress and feel their insistent stares, so you pull out your half of the scissors and call out to the boys.
“You filthy voyeurs!” you shout as all four of them are sent flying into the air.
But one day, when Ryūko learned that having a club could improve her standard of living, she decided to start one. From that day on, Ryūko gradually made the family richer... earning more and more stars, until eventually everyone had their own room and better food... ...and it began to create a distance between you, and Ryūko couldn’t really tease you about your weight anymore, sulking a little.
“Hey, little sister... haven’t you lost weight?”
But it didn’t really matter—when you went to bathe again, the four of them started spying on you once more, and Ryūko laughed as you beat all four of them up; that, at least, hadn’t changed.
After a long battle and another star, you all ended up living in a luxurious house of silver and gold, and as the whole family left the table, only you and Ryūko remained, looking at her plate with nostalgia, alone once again... does this really suit you?
“So… it’s like before, huh?”
