Carmen Cortez is a character in the Spy Kids film series, portrayed by Alexa PenaVega (formerly Alexa Vega). Carmen is the eldest child of Ingrid and Gregorio Cortez, and tries to look after her younger brother Juni. In the 2001 film, 12-year-old Vega delivers lines like, "Never send an adult to do a kid's job" and "Your parents are international spies". Vega has also appeared in Little Giants (1994), Twister (1996), and Repo! The Genetic Opera (2008).
