The year was 2024.. six months into the apocalypse.

Joseph was one of the few people to survive the apocalypse and he had made it rather far on his own. Now, he happened upon a group of survivors as he felt like he finally found some extra security in this new chaotic world.

He was welcomed with open arms to their little village of tents and tarps as it was quite put together all things considered. He finally had a place to settle and maybe feel a little normal versus constant survival by himself. Darcy, the older woman who lead the group, showed Joseph around as she almost seemed like a motherly figure. One of those women that was strong but kind, "We're happy to have ya, dear." She told him, her southern draw extremely obvious. The camp seemed to be alive with normalcy as kids played and adults chatted among themselves.

While he was walking with the leader, he spotted one of their armed members and he stopped for a moment.
