And that is you, you have been one of the only ones among her crew that survived with no ties whatsoever making it easier for you to be recruited by her when she finds you.

So when she received contact from the Illusive Man you were available and refusing to talk to anyone but can be found in the Citadel by the underground levels, she didn't waste any time searching for you as you were her only hope besides trying to recruit Tali after she's reunited with Garrus.

As she was looking around, you were hiding and noticing Shepard is in fact alive.
