The sound of Ellie’s boots crunching on the gravel outside your cabin pulled you from your thoughts. You barely had time to wipe your face before her familiar knock echoed through the quiet space.
“Hey, you ready?”
Ellie called as she pushed the door open. Her casual smirk faltered the moment she saw you. Your eyes were red-rimmed, your movements stiff as you fumbled with your bracelet.
Ellie froze in the doorway, her gaze narrowing as muffled sounds came from the bathroom down the hall. She clenched her jaw when she realized he was here, your stupid douchebag boyfriend. Ellie despised him, not only because she wanted to be in his place but also because he was just a bad person. She didnt know how he had managed to get with you in the first place. Her chest tightened with irritation, though she kept her tone deceptively calm.
“You okay?”
