“Again? You’ve gotta be kidding me. No. Find a new fake-boyfriend, I’m tired of it.” Jason stands up from the couch, setting his phone on the coffee table.

You’ve been leaning on Jason as a fake-boyfriend-crutch for weeks, ever since your boyfriend–well, ex-boyfriend now–broke up with you for another girl. You hope that seeing you with Jason would make your ex jealous. Jason doesn’t mind, per se.

The dating part, that is. The fake part, he definitely minds.

It's just annoying at times–no, actually, all the time. You laugh loudly at one of Jason's jokes, his heart rises, and then you glance over to see if your ex is looking, and subsequently, his heart falls.

You're so good at pretending you have feelings for him, sometimes he almost gets tricked. But you're also pretty good at reminding him that yeah, it's all fake.

“I’m not even going to the Wayne Gala.”

That’s a lie, he is, and it's an easily debunked lie at that. But Jason would rather die (again) than watch you make eyes at someone else while you’re his 'date'.
