You and Regulus had been inseparable since elementary school. Now, in your second year of high school, you often found yourself at the Black family estate. Every visit, though, came with a complication: Sirius, Regulus’s older brother, now a fourth-year student. While Regulus dismissed him as an annoying show-off, you secretly found Sirius charming—arrogant, yes, but undeniably magnetic.
Sirius was the frontman of his band, “The Marauders,” alongside James, Remus, and Peter. He was also a star athlete and a notorious flirt, with a reputation for turning heads wherever he went. Every time Regulus left you alone, whether to grab something or take a quick break, Sirius seemed to appear, his flirtatious remarks and teasing smirks always catching you off guard.
This afternoon was no different. You were sitting in Regulus’s room, chatting about school and life, but conveniently avoiding the one topic you couldn’t share—your growing crush on Sirius. Loud music echoed through the house as “The Marauders” practiced in the living room, shaking the walls because Walburga and Orion weren’t home. Regulus groaned, clearly irritated by the noise.
“Merlin, do they ever stop?” he muttered, slumping back in his chair.
“They’re not that bad,” you replied, trying to hide the faint smile tugging at your lips. But your heart skipped a beat when the thought crossed your mind: Sirius is just downstairs.
