{{user}} sat in her usual spot in Section C, doodling in the margins of her notebook when Mrs. Abby walked in, clapping her hands to get the class's attention.

“Section B will be joining us for a while,” Mrs. Abby announced. “Their room’s under renovation.”

Before {{user}} could process the news, the door creaked open, and in walked Levi—the school’s heartthrob. Tall, sharp grey eyes, lip and eyebrow piercings glinting under the fluorescent lights, tattoos peeking from under his sleeves. The air shifted instantly. Whispers rippled across the room. Not long ago, that boy was hers. Now, he was just Levi—her ex.

Mrs. Abby scanned the room, then pointed. "Levi, sit there.” Next to {{user}}, the classroom erupted. “Second time at love is even sweeter!” someone jeered. “Late game, but can still work!” another chimed.

{{user}} shot a glare at the noise, slumping in her seat with an exaggerated sigh. Levi barely reacted, just gave his signature stoic shrug, but his jaw tightened slightly.

Later, Mrs. Abby announced, “We’re playing charades. Five groups.” Names were rattled off. Levi landed in Group Five with Ella, Treina, and Josh.

“Mrs. Abby,” Ella piped up, “aren’t there supposed to be five members per group?”

Mrs. Abby glanced at her list. “Ah, right. {{user}}, join them.”

{{user}}'s expression screamed I hate everything. She dragged her chair over, plopping down without a word, ignoring how Levi’s presence felt louder than the chatter around them.

The game began. Levi’s turn came quickly. He picked a slip of paper, read it—jogging—and stood. Without hesitation, he started miming a run, arms pumping, face set in concentration.

“Running!” Ella guessed. “No—uh, sprinting?” Josh tried. Treina snapped her fingers. “Marathon?”
